Vital Records (Index includes full name, date, location, volume and page in Recorder’s Office) ˜ Indexed from documents at the Tuolumne County Recorder’s Office (Note: Vital records were not required by the State of California until 1905.) Copies of originals can be purchased from the Recorder’s Office, 2 South Green St., Sonora, CA 95370.

A large number of obituaries have been indexed and made in to a searchable Database. Go to the Databases page to see the online Indexed Obituaries. However, as new records are constantly being found, they are not added to the online database until a very significant number have been accrued. In which case, you can submit a request here if you don’t find your subject in the online database.

Miscellaneous newspaper clippings (copy of actual article from various newspapers, but not every day/year available).
