Our Society endeavors to present educational programs and events which enhance success in the search for ancestors, and the skills for presenting that material. Towards that end we offer workshops or seminars, scheduled speakers at our monthly meetings, mentoring and research assistance and special interest groups.

We strive to offer Workshops on an annual basis, to provide guidance to both new and experienced genealogists.  Programs and Classes offered in the past have included such topics as:  Beginning Genealogy, Using the Find-A-Grave Website, Writing Your Family History, It’s Not All On-Line, and DNA Testing and Genealogy.

Monthly Programs

At our general monthly meeting after a brief business meeting, and some refreshments, we will have a speaker to present informative and entertaining topics. Some are stories of our members’ ancestors, some are proficient in some field of interest to genealogy. All are of value to the attendees.

Mentoring & Research Assistance

TCGS Volunteers are available at the Genealogy Library to help you get started with genealogy, to assist with organizing your research or to help overcome brick walls.   Library location and hours are posted on the Home page.

Special Interest Groups

These groups meet to pursue a special facet of their genealogy research and generally meet on a monthly basis.  Guests are welcome to attend one time before becoming members of our Society.  See the list of Special Interest Groups and learn more about each on the Home page.
