2018

Date Program
January 8, 2018 Family Treasures - Family Treasurers – This is a fun afternoon, where members bring items that have importance to them and their family, and tell the story about the object. Items can be letters, photographs, clothing, glassware, etc., anything that ties one generation to another.
February 12, 2018 Stories From the Heart - Members will share a love story about their family. This can be a funny story, or one that is very poignant. If it would help to tell the story, the member may bring an item to show, such as a letter or piece of jewelry. It is always an interesting meeting when members share their stories. Stories may be about siblings, parents, pets, friends, or anyone else who comes to mind. Unlike our January meeting, Family Treasures, where we share the story of an item, at this meeting the emphasis is on the story.
March 12, 2018 What Was It Like - Susan Strope will continue with What Was It Like, this year comparing the decades of the 1920s and 1930s. She will present a PowerPoint highlighting the differences in these two decades. This presentation always brings back memories about our parents and grandparents.
April 9, 2018 Favorite Free Websites - Members will demonstrate their favorite free websites that can be used in finding genealogy information. There will be online demonstrations of the websites.
May 14, 2018 - 12:00 pm Election of Officers and Annual Potluck Luncheon. . . yummm!
June 11, 2018 LDS Sonora History Center - Update on what's at the center by Jim Robinson.
